The vandals you suspect are damaging floral
decorations on grave sites may be really four-legged creatures
that roam Rest Haven when no one is around. Deer, dozen and
dozens of them from nearby wooded areas like to visit the
cemetery and nip the tasty tops off flowers and buds. This can
be especially troubling for relatives tending new burial sites
where fresh flower arrangements from funerals decorate
graves of someone who has just died. The management at Rest
Haven sympathizes with relatives upset about damaged
decorations. Yet, aside from banning fresh flowers, there is
little that can be done to keep deer off the grounds. While
vandalism is a problem at cemeteries nationwide, we just
thought you should know that often times, deer not vandals
may be responsible.
