Adam "Troy" Miller

Adam T “Troy” Miller, 53, of Hagerstown Maryland, died on July 1, 2021 while attempting to help victims of a multi-vehicle crash on I-81 in West Virginia.

Troy is loved and remembered by his wife of 27 years, Julie L “Lovey” Miller; his children, Kristina N Judkins (Miller), Joshua A Miller, Brandon C Miller, step-son, Joshua A Mills; mother, Patricia Miller; sister Danielle Hinkle (Miller) and brother-in law Jimmy; brother Eric Miller; brother Brad Miller and sister-in-law Diane; grandson Maveric M Miller; his life-long friend Todd Lynch; his best friend Chuck Zimmerman; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles as well as a magnitude of friends, neighbors, co-workers, and associates.

Welcoming him home are his maternal and paternal grandparents, father Dennis, mother-in-law Beverly, Aunt Sherrie, brother-in-law Richie, sister-in-law Joy, nephew Trey, cousins Jacob, Thomas and Les.

Spending time with family and friends was very important to Troy. Whether taking a drive, watching movies or football, spending time at a family picnic, having lunch on a weekend, or going to dinner for no special occasion. When life was too busy, he always made sure to call or text those he loved just to say hello and catch-up. Troy loved his wife deeply and no child could want more from a father - during the good times and through the tough times - he would do anything to help them be happy and successful in life. He loved and respected his mother so much. He always wished he could spend more time with his brothers and sister but life sometimes just got in the way. But he always made sure they knew how special they were to him. He was a life-long Pittsburgh Steelers fan and fanatic and he loved muscle cars and car shows. Despite his terrible golf slice he always enjoyed a good round of 18 at the local courses, and he loved to fish with family and friends. So many times he came home without even a bite on the rod, but he spoke of those outings with such joy and happiness. He loved to make and build things using his Grand-dad’s wood working tools and always wished he could remember his Grandmothers recipe for biscuits and gravy. Troy loved the ocean and snorkeling, the stars and all things about space, antiques, boats, and good food. He had such an adventurous spirit and love of life! His quick smile, loud, infectious laughter and free spirit touched everyone he met and created a sense of ease and comfortableness in any situation. He was always there to help - with his time, money if possible, experience, advice - or just a smile and and a word of encouragement and a great big hug. It didn’t matter if he knew you or not - a flat tire on the side of the road, a nameless neighbor who needed a tool for something, a terrible accident on a rainy morning where people might be hurt - he was there to help and expected nothing in return. Because that is who Troy Miller was - a kind, sweet, loving, giving and extraordinary man. He was, and will remain, a hero. He will be loved eternally, missed beyond words and remembered always.
