Adolphus Fulton Weedon, 93, of Germantown, MD, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Frederick, MD on Sept. 22, 1925, he was the son of the late Anna Alberta and Fulton Thomas Weedon. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Angelica Holt; a brother, Godfrey Weedon; and 3 sisters, Ermine Layer, Gloria Gibson and Veronica Ingram.
Adolphus was a U.S. Army WWII veteran serving in the Battle of the Bulge. He later worked for the Department of Education in Cookeville, MD and then was a mechanical engineer for John's Hopkins.
Adolphus loved fishing, hunting, motorcycles, driving, being outdoors and working with his hands. He was a proud member of the Earth Wheels and Fire motorcycle group and was a member of James E. Stewart Lodge #49.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margarita (Anderson) Weedon; 10 children, Selvyn O. Wyatt and wife Elvia M., Rosa Jones and husband Richard, Sandra Garces and husband Teofilo, Reinaldo Wyatt, Eda Wilbar and husband Michael, Nilka Charris and husband Alberto, Irma Ceballos and husband Luis, Alida Alcantar and husband Eduardo, Veronica McDowell and Kathy Dutton; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Mary Frances Weedon; and his son-in-law, John Holtz.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Inc., 1601 Pennsylvania Ave, Hagerstown, MD 21742. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home.
