Alan D. Weinberg died peacefully at Hagerstown Healthcare Center on Saturday, April 9th, 2022. He was 77 years old. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and spent most of his life in Maryland and West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Herbert Weinberg, as well as his twin brother, Robert. He is survived by his daughters Laura (Chris) Nammour. Elizabeth (Patrick) Long, and nephews. He also has three grandchildren.
Alan was a special education teacher who worked for years in Montgomery and Frederick County. He was also a musician. He was known for his beautiful voice and loved Irish and American folk music. He routinely rehabilitated guitars in need of repair and cats in need of love and safety. He was an artistic man who found great joy in music, art and making friends with strangers.
There will be a public burial at Parklawn Memorial Park and Menorah Gardens on Thursday, April 14th, 2022 at 1:00 pm. An informal gathering for those who wish to attend will occur at Nanny O’Brien’s Irish Pub in Washington DC at 2:00 pm.
