Ana Villarroel Colla

Ana “Mama” Villarroel Colla, 85, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Born October 24, 1939, in Argentina, she was the daughter of the late Luis Alberto Villarroel and Catalina Villarroel.

Ana was preceded in death by one brother, Manuel Villarroel.

She was a head nurse in Argentina until the age of 25, then worked as a registered nurse for 40 years.

Ana was a devout Seventh-day Adventist who put God first. She enjoyed spending time with her family, taking care of animals, and attending church as a deaconess at The Hagerstown Spanish Church. She had a passion for helping those in need and making sure everyone was taken care of. She spent most of her free time interpreting at many hospitals and doing private nursing. Ana was the most compassionate, loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother who was always there when we needed her the most to offer her support, wisdom, and love.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Anthony Colla; three children, Petros Colla, Ana (Nena) Lapole, and husband, Brian, Luis Villarruel, and wife, Colleen; one sister, Gloria Villarroel; eight grandchildren, Cassidy Thompson, Chloe Knight, Benjamin Lapole, and wife Sarah, Carmen O’Berry, and husband Charles, Lydia Villarruel, Solomon Jenkins, Nicolas Villarruel, and Brock Lapole; five great grandchildren Maya, Briar, Violet, Thomas, and Ezra-Gray.

The family will receive friends and family from 6-8 PM Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Rest Haven Funeral Home.

Services will be at 10 AM Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave, Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Juan Sicalo will officiate the service.
