Anna Virginia (Kentner) Moyer, 97, of Falling Waters, W.Va., died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Jan. 19, 1914, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Wellington Roy and Emma Katherine (Herbert) Kentner.
Anna was a member of Christ's Reformed Church in Hagerstown.
She retired as a claims representative with the Social Security Administration.
She was a breast cancer survivor in 1953.
Anna is survived by a son, Fred Moyer of Falling Waters; a brother, Elder Snyder of Hagerstown; a grandson, Lance Moyer and wife, Donya, of Falling Waters; three great-grandchildren, Kaytlynn, Britnie and Zachariah Moyer; and a great-great-grandson, Bryson Moyer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Moyer Sr.; a sister, Dorothy Glessner; and six brothers, Claude Kentner, Raymond, Robert, Herbert, William and Edwin Snyder.
A private memorial service will be conducted for the immediate family Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011. Friends will be received for a public memorial service Wednesday at noon at Christ Reformed Church, 130 W. Franklin St., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Gregg R. Meserole officiating.
Inurnment will follow at 2 p.m. in Rest Haven Cemetery.
