Anthony "Tony" Amoddio, 87, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011 at Meritus Medical Center.
Born Dec. 22, 1923, in Plainfield, N.J., he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Wood) Amoddio.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a seaman first class during World War II.
Tony retired after 36 years of service as a tool cutter grinder at Mack Trucks, in 1990.
He was Catholic by faith.
He is survived by four daughters, Mary Amoddio of Woodstock, Md., Margaret Vansant of Mesa, Ariz., Marion Moats of Hagerstown, and Jo-Ann A. Hellmer of Gilbert, Ariz.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. George A. Limmer officiating.
Inurnment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
