Anthony Francis "Tony" Pruchniewski, 69, of Hagerstown, passed away, Friday, March 1, 2019, at Doey's House, surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 28, 1949 in Baltimore, Md. he was the son of the late, Andrew and Marie (Beringher) Pruchniewski. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his daughter, Melinda A. Summers.
Tony was a US Air Force veteran of 13 1/2 years having served in Vietnam.
After his military service he worked and retired from the US Postal Service where he was a mail processor.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hagerstown; Washington County Amvets Post 10; Dixon-Troxell American Legion Post 211, Funkstown; the APWU and the NARFE.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda S. (Gralewski) Pruchniewski; one son, Michael A. Pruchniewski and wife, Tracy of Hagerstown; one sister, Theresa Church; one granddaughter, Bethany Davis; one great grandson, Kayden Davis and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church,17630 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Fr. Christopher Moore as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 6th from 6-8 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown where a Christian Wake service will be conducted at 6:00 P.M.
