Barbara Josephine Scott, 81, of Hagerstown, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 20, 2020 surrounded by loving family and caring staff at UPMC Altoona, Altoona, PA.
Born on March 20, 1939 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William and Mabel (May) Basore. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Robert Scott, one brother; Charles (Bill) Basore, Sisters; Thelma Jean Basore, Dorothy Kunkleman, Wanda Toms and Joan Gower, and one Great Granddaughter; Logan Starliper.
Barbara attended St. Mary's Catholic School, Washington Middle School and graduated from Hagerstown High School.
Barbara also attended Hagerstown Junior College where she obtained her CNA.
Barbara retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant from Homewood Retirement Home, Williamsport.
Barbara enjoyed playing Bingo at Clear Spring and Halfway.
She is survived by her sons; Burton Showe and wife Brenda of Clear Spring, Timmy Showe and wife Evonne of Chambersburg, PA, Tony Showe of Hagerstown, Bobby Showe and wife Nancy of Fallon, NV, Darren Showe and fiance Cheryl of Martinsburg, and Joey Showe of Hagerstown, one daughter; Suzanne Sigler and husband Jeff of Martinsburg, 15 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, and her dog, Shannon.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 PA Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Jim Gross officiating.
A viewing will be held one hour prior at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Barbara's name to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Rd., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
