She is survived by three sisters, Mildred Toms of Hagerstown, MD, Valerie Eccard of Hagerstown, MD, and Nadine Bercaw of Smithsburg, MD and many beloved nieces and nephews; her children, Thurman Reed Jr. and wife Debbie of  Scottsville, VA, Debbie Crim and husband Rich of Hagerstown, Barb Diseati and husband Jeff of Chewsville, MD, Bruce Reed of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Phil Reed and wife Tina of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Billy Reed of Hagerstown, MD and girlfriend Dana Novotny of Bel Air, MD,  Jenny Kretzer and husband Steve of Warfordsburg, PA, and Melissa Lambdin and husband Doug of Catonsville, MD.

Bea Myers is also survived by 17 beloved grandchildren: Jessica Bradley, Dawn Newell, Carrie Wade, Jason Crim, Russell Seibert Jr., Heather Perrott, Katrina Gatrell, Sean Hockensmith, Danielle Reed, Megan Boutwell, Angie Miller, Brandon Keefer, Steve Kretzer Jr., Samantha Jenkins, Sarah Zeberlien, Grace Lambdin, and Reed Lambdin. She is also survived by 50 great and great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Bea was preceded in death by her sisters Louise Monn, Gloria Wolford, Genevieve Mullenix, and her brothers Freddie Mullenix, Darren Mullenix, Harold Mullenix and Nervin Mullenix; her husband of 32 years, Thurman Reed Sr., her husband of 14 years, William Myers, and her daughter Donna Jennings of Hagerstown, MD.

Bea was a lifelong member of Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Leitersburg.

She was a stay at home mother and dedicated volunteer for 20 years at all of the schools her nine children attended, serving in leadership positions with multiple parent teacher associations. Bea was a proud sports and band mother and grandmother, never missing an event or a chance to cheer for her kids. Following her husband’s death, she earned her GED and was employed as an Avon lady for many years and served as Assistant Manager with Avon. Many of her favorite times were spent with Avon customers who became friends. Bea was an active member of the Hagerstown TOPS club and enjoyed being healthy together with her friends there.

For more than ten years Bea has resided at Williamsport Retirement Village where she has made many friends, most important among them her long time roommate Donna Harper. As Bea’s health failed, Donna was her voice.

Bea was loved by all who knew her and will always be remembered as an amazing mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, neighbor and friend. She felt there was no challenge that could not be overcome together…or at least weathered with a smile, some jokes and chocolate chip cookies. She was courageous, kind, and absolutely devoted to her family.

The family will receive friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
