Bernice Maxine "Bea" Babington, 79, of Funkstown, passed away, Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Meritus Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
Born November 22, 1936 in Cumberland, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late, Charles S. and Pearl R. (Gaff) Long. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Hutzel and three brothers, Don, Bob and her twin, Max Long.
Mrs. Babington retired with over 30 years of service as a customer service representative with the Washington County Hospital. She loved going to work everyday and after her retirement she would volunteer her time with the hospital.
She was a member of Paramount Brethren in Christ Church, Hagerstown.
Bea loved to bowl and was a member of the Senior Bowling League.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth B. Babington and their faithful companion, Burbe; four children, Donald Mease and wife Pam and Brian Mease and wife Carolyn, all of Hagerstown, Tom Mease of Funkstown and Chuck Mease and wife Janie of Mercersburg, Pa.; step daughter, Janet Butler and husband Charles of Pembroke, Ga.; one sister, Deloris Marrale of Cumberland; six grandchildren, Ryan, Jill, Chas, Miranda, Hayden and Sierra Mease; a daughter in law, Cindy Mease.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. James Stauffer officiating.
Entombment will follow in Rest Haven Mausoleum.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-7 P.M. and on Monday from 9:30-10:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Bea's name to the Paramount Brethren in Christ Church, 19106 Longmeadow Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
A reception will be held following the services at Paramount Brethren in Christ Church.
