Betty Jean Gaver

Betty Jean (Hoffman) Gaver passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, in Chambersburg, PA. Born on August 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William Paul Hoffman and Margaret Louise Hoffman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Cecil Johnson Gaver; daughter, Cela Chelmey, and brothers, William Hoffman, Jr., and Dr. Richard Hoffman.

Betty was a member of Trinity U.B. Church for 50 years where she taught Sunday school, and a member of Macedonia U.B. Church.

Betty is survived by her son, Michael Gaver (Candace); son-in-law, Ronnie Chelmey; sisters, Nancy Thomas (Bill), and Mary Pittsnogle; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held for Betty on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.
