Betty Jean Henesy

Betty Jean (Slayman) Henesy, 90, of Hagerstown, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Ravenwood Lutheran Villiage.
Born December 6, 1924 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Mary (Grosh) Slayman.
Betty was a homemaker.
She attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Hagerstown. Betty was a member of the Woman's Club. She enjoyed painting; especially land and seascapes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Earl Hoffman Henesy, who died July 30, 2003; a son, Larry Henesy; a brother, Richard Codori; and two sisters, Helen Downs and Katherine Slayman.
Surviving her are six children, Janet Mongan of Reisterstown, Patricia Henesy of Hagerstown, Arthur Henesy of Hagerstown, Robert Henesy of Winthrop, WA., Carol Ann Henesy Havens of Hagerstown, Deena Jean Dillashaw of Federal Way, WA.; a sister, Doris Lennon of Santa Monica, CA.; a brother, Victor Slayman; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Michael Louia officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to: Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
