Betty Catherine Plunkard

Betty Catherine Plunkard, 92, of Boonsboro, Md., passed away, Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Sterling Care, South Mountain, Boonsboro.

Born June 6, 1931 in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late, Merval and Luella (Miller) Toms. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Clyde William Plunkard on April 27, 2016; one son, Randall Clyde Plunkard and nine siblings.

Mrs. Plunkard was a member of Emmanuel Chapel, Smithsburg, Md. and her hobbies were sewing, puzzles and baking apple pies.

She is survived by four children, Shelby Jean Beaver and husband, Paul of Burkittsville, Md., Allen Lee Plunkard and wife, Kimberly of Boonsboro, Debora May Gaudin of Boonsboro and Curtis Wm. Plunkard of Needmore, Pa.; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one brother, Robert Thompson and wife, Elaine of Hampstead, Md.

Graveside services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to, Emmanuel Chapel, 12011 Bayer Dr., Smithsburg, MD 21783.

Rest Haven Funeral Home, Hagerstown is assisting the family with the arrangements.
