Betty Jane Teel

Betty Jane Teel, 98, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at home on Sunday, December 18, 2022.

Born July 29, 1924, in Hagerstown she was the daughter of the late, John and Georganna (Weller) Vaughn. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her 1st husband,Francis Fratianni and her 2nd husband, George "Jack" Teel; three brothers, John, Richard and Donald Vaughn.

Mrs. Teel retired with over 30 years of service with the Washington County Board of Education where she was a cafeteria manager. Previously she had worked for the Fairchild Corporation where she was a Rosie the Riveter.

She was a member of Zion Reformed United Church of Christ, Hagerstown.

Mrs. Teel shared a lifetime of love with her family, daughters, Carol L. Mooers and husband, Michael and Brenda K. Bowers; a sister, Doris Hoffer; two grandchildren, Christopher Mooers and wife, Trisha and Brandie Mooers-Burchard and husband, Erik; four great grandchildren, Raean and Atlee Mooers, Chace and Jax Burchard.

A memorial service will be held at Zion Reformed United Church of Christ at a later date.

Private entombment services will be held at the convenience of the family at Rest Haven Cemetery Mausoleum.
