Beverley Elaine Hershberger of Maugansville, MD met her Lord on January 9, 2024 at Complete Care Nursing Home in Hagerstown at the age of 95 years. For the last four years she resided at Seaton of Hagerstown surrounded by a large and loving family. Born August 11, 1928 in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Emma Ensminger Price, and stepdaughter of Harold E. Price. She was the daughter of Irvin L. Burger and was also predeceased by her brother, Irvin L. “Sonny” Burger, Jr. She was the widow of Wilbur R. Hershberger with whom she is now reunited.
Bev is survived by a daughter, Sherry Talbert (Carroll), and two sons, Wilbur (Donna) and Hershel (Krista). She is also survived by granddaughters Emmalee Replogle (David) and Nicolette Carter (Tanisha) and grandsons Bradly Talbert (Elysa) and Kevin Talbert (Beth). She was blessed with great grandsons, Luka Carter and Cameron Talbert and great granddaughter, Rowan Talbert.
Beverley was a life time member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hagerstown where she served as supervisor of the Cradle Roll Nursery, President of the Senior Choir and member of the Bell Choir. During her residence in Berkeley Springs, she attended St. Thomas’ Episcopal Parish in Hancock.
Beverley was a long term employee of Maugansville Elevator and Lumber Company then retired from Hub Labels. She was a member and officer of the Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary in years past.
Services will be held Monday, January 15 at 11:00 at Rest Haven Chapel with the Rev. Hoda Zavandro
officiating. The family will receive friends at the chapel on Sunday, January 14 from 4:00 to 6:00 and, as a final tribute to Beverley and her passion for purple, encourages visitors to wear her favorite color.
