Beverly Rouzer passed away on November 6,2024 at the age of 70. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Francis Crosswhite.
Beverly received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from George Mason University in 1978. She worked in obstetrics, oncology, and surgery in hospitals in Virginia, Chicago, and Hagerstown before settling in at Johns Hopkins in 1990. As a Registered nurse, Beverly worked for Hopkins for over 30 years. In retirement, Beverly was able to spend more time with friends and family, as well as continue her search for the perfect crab cake, and accompanying a glass of wine.
She was an avid bird watcher and animal lover, and especially favored cats and elephants, in the Elephants Sanctuary in Tennessee that she supported. Beverly had a dry but wicked sense of humor. She enjoyed traveling and reading.
Beverly was a volunteer at the Baltimore Humane Society for many years. She’d be there 2-3 days a week as a front desk greeter. She was the first person the public saw when they entered. She was compassionate and kind. When she had a moment, she loved to visit her favorite shelter kitties. She brought treats for the staff each Saturday.
Beverly is survived by her cousins, David (Sherri) Lantz, Christine Menzner (ED), Best friend; Cindy Gruver (Bob), friend and neighbor; Denise Harmon (Troy).
Beverly was much loved by those whose lives she touched, and she will be greatly missed.
