Calvin Lee Roy Howell, 99, of Williamsport, passed away Friday, February 2nd, at Upper
Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD.
Born January 15th, 1925 he was the son of the late Lee R. and Emma C. (Mercer) Howell.
Calvin, who was also called Tommy, served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII in the China Burma India theater. He was a member of the American Legion Post 202 and the Red Men of Williamsport. He attended the Williamsport Seventh Day Adventist Church. Calvin was retired from Southern States Cooperative as a Regional Manager after 35 years of employment.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years Dolores M. (Wolfe) Howell, a daughter Cathy Dice and her husband Alan, two sisters Jesse Ottinger and Dorothy Phillips both of Boonsboro and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were sisters Mary Killian, Nita Norman, Margaret Shannon, Carol Routzahn and brothers Joseph R. Howell and Edgar Howell.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 15th, 2024 in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown with pastor Reinhardt Stander officiating.
