Catherine Marie Hensel, 91, of Hagerstown, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Williamsport Retirement Village, Williamsport, MD.
Born on July 7, 1930 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Herschel and Jessie (Wibberley) Shank.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril Joseph Hensel in 1986.
She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and the Washington County Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
She was a member of the Washington County Hospital Auxillary, the National Headache Foundation, the Humane Society of Washington County, the AARP, National Osteoporosis Foundation and Breast Cancer Awareness of Cumberland Valley.
She is survived by her Daughter; Cynthia Marie Garland, Son in Law; Mark Edward Garland, and Niece; Linda May Feigley all of Hagerstown.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Father Todd Young officiating.
Family will receive friends the evening prior, Thursday, September 2, from 6-8 PM at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 101 S. Prospect St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
