Catherine Montana Derr-Rinehart
April 4, 1937 — July 19, 2017
Mrs. Catherine Montana Derr-Rinehart, born April 4, 1937 in Hagerstown, passed away, in her home 4th generation home, Wednesday, July 19, 2017 surrounded by her family.
She was a homemaker and genealogist with her photographic mind and memory placed her in high demand as a multi country well known genealogist. In the genealogy field with her work ethic and deep knowledge of specific family heritage, so much she helped to write several books with dedications inscribed with her being named.
Her many gifts included playing 8 different musical instruments being in her band in her early years the Twilight 5 gave pleasure to many in the boogie woogie music era.
Her love of church and God kept her going. With her love of music she instilled in her children and their children. Her loves in later years was her ticket jars, her church, her home, her family and the ole mighty blessed God.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Harry George Rinehart, jr., 6-13-17, her son, Lance "Tony" Bradley Derr, 5-18-17, her parents,Worthy Derr and Flora Kelbaugh Derr, her sisters, Evelyn Boward, Flora "Peggy" Duffey and Ruby Reed.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Catherine Rinehart-Heinbaugh and husband, Leonard C. Heinbaugh, Jr. and her beloved grandchildren, Leonard C. Heinbaugh III, Aleigha Catherine Heinbaugh and Andrew Bradley Leer.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Rest haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. James Moore officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery, Smithsburg, Md.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 P.M.
