Charles Elmer Bere went home to be with His Savior December 14, 2016 at the age of 71
Charles is survived by His daughter Jessica and husband Michael Gower of Martinsburg, WV, daughter Shelly and husband Richard Williams of Hagerstown MD, Sister Shirley and husband Norman Crouse of Myersville, MD and Sister in law Lois Walls of Williamsport MD. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Claire Gower and Caiden Williams; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by His loving wife Debbie (Gluck) Bere, His mother Bertha M Bere and His father Harry M Bere, Brother Arthur Lewis, Sister Bonnie Bere, and Brother in law Rennes Gluck.
Charles was born on November 2 1945 in Frederick MD to Bertha and Harry Bere. He attended Wolfsville elementary in Myersville, MD and Middletown schools in Middletown MD. He was formerly a member of Grossnickel Church of the Brethren, Myersville MD and was a member of Cornerstone Community Church; formally Hagerstown Grace Brethren. He married Debbie Gluck the love of his life and best friend in 1995 after two children and many years together.
Charles was a supportive, loving husband and father. He was a rock for his children and displayed the best example of what love is throughout his marriage. He recently became a grandfather and enjoyed every moment with his granddaughter and grandson.
He was an avid baseball fan and loved talking baseball with anyone who had any interest. He always enjoyed a good visit with friends and family and enjoyed making people laugh.
A funeral is scheduled for Monday, December 19, 2016 at Rest Haven Cemetery with a reception to follow at Rest Haven. Pastor Brad Nigh will officiate the ceremony. Family and friends are welcome to attend to celebrate Charles’s life.
