Charles Guy Mullinix, 74, of Hagerstown, passed away, Monday, January 30, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born October 23, 1942 in Montgomery County Md. he was the son of the late, Dyson F. and T. Ruth (Farrier) Mullinix. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry W. Mullinix and Vernon F. Mullinix. Charles was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Mullinix was a graduate of the Maryland State Police Academy and retired from the State of Maryland Department of Natural Resources as a Maryland Natural Resources Police Officer and was awarded the Governor's Citation for 33 years of faithful service. He also received an award of Merit from the Appalachian Trail Conference. After retirement he owned and operated Big Spring Landscaping.
He was a veteran of the US Army Reserves.
Mr. Mullinix was a member of Grace Bible Church, Greencastle, Pa. where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was an Awana Club leader.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 53 years, Peggy Irene (Klipp) Mullinix; one son, Charles W. Mullinix of Williamsport and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Bible Church, 2327 Hoffman Rd., Greencastle, Pa with Pastor Herm Fisler officiating. Interment will follow in Shanktown Cemetery, Big Pool, Md.
Friends will be received at the church on Thursday one hour prior to services.
