Charles Hubert Mongan, Sr.

June 22, 1946 — April 10, 2021

Charles Hubert Mongan, Sr., 74, of Hagerstown, passed away, Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the VAMC-Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born June 22, 1946 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Donald Edmund and Sarah Rae (Weaver) Mongan.

Mr. Mongan was a 1964 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

He was a US Navy (Seabees) veteran of the Vietnam War. and a member of the V.F.W., Hagerstown.

Mr. Mongan retired as a stone and brick mason working for many companies over the years.

He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church, Hagerstown and volunteered for the Catholic Ministry (Joseph House) in Salisbury, Md. and the Hagerstown Area Softball League. Mr. Mongan loved his family and was an avid fisherman, crabber, outdoorsman and loved to ride his Harley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, M. Lorraine (Potter) Mongan; three children, Charles Mongan, Jr., Kristen Dodson (Stephen) and Kimberly Rodriguez (David); three siblings, Donald Mongan (Cindy), Brenda Sue Brennan (Charles) and Thomas Mongan (Art); 11 grandchildren, Jeremiah, Seth, Brandon, Nathan, Dakoda, Abigail, David, Jade, Joshua, Hannah and Jaden.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. David Rodriguez (Son in Law) officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Charles's name to Joseph House (The Little Sisters of Jesus and Mary), P.O.Box 1755, Salisbury, MD 21802.
