Charlotte Louise Shirley

Charlotte Louise Shirley, 89, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at her home, while surrounded by her loving family.
Born December 15, 1929 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Oscar William and Mildred E. (Houpt) Nye.
Charlotte was a 1947 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She worked for Fairchild Industries for 35 years as a supervisor. She also worked for Rohrer and Blaine Hardware.
She attended Maugansville Bible Brethren Church and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 42, North American Rod and Gun Club Auxiliary, and the Red Men Red Feather Council #59.
Charlotte enjoyed traveling and playing bingo.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Leslie Vernon Shirley; two children, Nicky DiBiase, Vickie A. Shirley and partner Keith Beaver, all of Hagerstown; two grandchildren, Angela Wright, Christopher F. Kelly; four great-grandchildren, Trenton, Lillian, Hogan, McKinlee Wright; a nephew Warren Thompson; and sister-in-law, Bernice Nye.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three siblings, Harvey Nye, Joe Nye, Dorothy Thompson; a sister-in-law, Betty Nye; a niece, Nancy Weirich; and two nephews, Bobby and Billy Thompson.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, June 6, 2019 in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Rest Haven Funeral Home, same address.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Rest Haven Funeral Home.
