Clifford E. Eardley

Clifford "Cliff" Ellsworth Eardley, 89, of Hagerstown, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Coffman Nursing Home.

Born January 10, 1929 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Catherine (Silvers) Garrish and Russell Eardley.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and retired from the Air National Guard.

Cliff was a member of First Christian Church as well as Morris Frock American Legion Post No. 42.

He proudly served on the board of the Washington County Housing Authority.

Cliff retired as a senior supervisor and safety officer from Dupont after serving for over 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Eardley; three daughters, Cathy Virata, Harryette Martin, and Susan Craig; six stepchildren, Sandra Dorsey, Cammie Growden, Barbara Falco, twins, Joe and John Malachowski; and Jackie Friend; two brothers, Theodore and Russ Eardley; four grandchildren, Steven, Jon, Angela, and Elizabeth; eight step-grandchildren, Shay, Matt, Tyler, Hailee, Noah, Jack, Garrett, and Logan; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Nathan, and Sage.

In addition to his parents, Cliff was also preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Eardley; two sisters, Delores and Connie; and two grandsons, Ollen Craig and Brian Martin.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and again following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made in Clifford's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
