Curtis “Curt” Blake Shaw, passed away on February 9, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was born on January 21, 1970, in Hagerstown, Maryland and grew up in Clear Spring, MD. Curt worked and lived in Martinsburg, WV for many years.
Curt graduated from Clear Spring High School in 1988. He was a long-time supporter of the Terrapin Club and a devoted fan of the University of Maryland Athletics, showcasing his passion for sports and his loyalty to his favorite teams throughout the years.
He was a proud member of Post 222 Joseph C. Herbert, Sons of the American Legion (S.A.L.) for 49 years.
Curt is survived by his mother, Darlene McCarty (Yeakle), and his “Dad”, Paul McCarty, both residing in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, brother; Jeffrey Shaw, and wife, Sandi, niece; Sophia Shaw, who was the “apple of his eye”. Grandmother; Annabelle "Nanny" Kayser, his special aunt and uncle, Barbara and Dave Hardeo and his grandmother, Dolly McCarty. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous family members and friends, all who had the pleasure of knowing him and sharing in his life.
Curtis was preceded in death by his father, Ronald E. Shaw.
A Memorial Gathering to honor Curt’s life and legacy will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Clear Spring American Legion Ballroom from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, allowing family and friends to come together to celebrate his remarkable life.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Community Foundation of Washington County for the Scholarships of T.J. Josenhans, Kannon Shives, and Clayton Knode (or) Brooke’s House.
