David "Dave" A. Fisher November 27, 1936 – April 25, 2025
David "Dave" A. Fisher, 88, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 25, 2025.
Born in Columbia City, Indiana, Dave graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a degree in Business Administration. After college, he proudly served as a naval officer in the Far East for three years.
Dave began his accounting career at Haskins & Sells in Dayton, Ohio, and in 1970 moved with his family to Tokyo, Japan, where he worked as a CPA for Deloitte Haskins & Sells.
In 1976, the family relocated to Hagerstown, where Dave became a partner at Smith, Elliott, Kearns & Co. He later served as Chief Financial Officer at Homewood Retirement Center until his retirement in 1999.
A dedicated civic leader, Dave was a proud member of the Hagerstown Lions Club for nearly 50 years. He served as Treasurer, President, and District Governor of District 22W, and received the Melvin Jones Fellowship, the Lions Clubs International Foundation’s highest honor.
Dave also served his community through roles on the Board of Directors for Coffman Nursing Home and the Hagerstown Community Concert Association, and at Habitat for Humanity, where he was Treasurer.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris; two children, Scott Fisher and Pam Campbell (husband, Courtney); grandsons, Adam and Zach; and 2.5 treasured great-grandchildren.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the team at Hospice of Washington County for their compassionate care.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven funeral home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue., Hagerstown, MD. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family at the funeral home on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 12-1 P.M.
