David L. Stealey, Sr.

David Louis Stealey, Sr., 79, of Hagerstown, passed away, Sunday, July 31, 2016 at his home.
Born January 4, 1937 in Clarksburg, West Virginia he was the son of the late, Charles R. and Anna (Anderson) Stealey. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Susan Ruth (Schlimme) Stealey; one brother, Charles R. Stealey, Jr. and one sister, Frances Lloyd.
Mr. Stealey retired as a maintenance mechanic for Thompson Steel, Sparrows Point, Md.
He is survived by three sons, David L. Stealey, Jr. and wife Mary of Hagerstown, Shaun M. Stealey and wife, Linda of Tampa, Fla. and Richard D. Stealey and wife, Becki of Nicholasville, Ky.; four grandchildren, David Stealey III of Edgemere, Md., Erin Stealey of Doylestown, Pa., Patrick Stealey of Nicholasville, Ky. and Kevin Stealey of High Point, NC.
A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Mark C. Mooney officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Senior Activities Center, 535 East Franklin St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
