David Lee Carter, 67, of Hagerstown, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 23, 1942, in St. James, Md., he was the son of the late Harold and Edna (Barkdoll) Carter.
Mr. Carter was the owner and operator of D.L. Carter Trucking in Hagerstown.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Hagerstown, the Funkstown American Legion No. 211, the AMVETS of Waynesboro, Pa., and the Williamsport Red Men Conococheague Tribe 84.
He is survived by his wife, Betty L. (Winters) Carter; two daughters, Lynda L. Moser and husband, Allen, of Hagerstown and Teresa A. Stoner and husband, Phil, of Greencastle; one sister, Carolyn Sines of Hagerstown; four grandchildren, Sarah Holsinger and husband, Richard, Ariel Kifer, David Moser and Cierra Stoner.
A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Robert V. Robinson officiating.
Inurnment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
