David Reese Jr. Kenneth

Kenneth David Reese Sr., 65, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 15, 1946, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late David Kenneth and Mary Ellen (Kuhn) Reese.

Mr. Reese retired after 30 years of service as ITD driver for Corning Glass and World Kitchens of Greencastle, where he also served as the assistant chief of the ERT Team.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was Brethren by faith, a member of American Legion Post No. 26, Hancock; and an avid fan of NASCAR, the Baltimore Orioles and the Hagerstown Suns.

He is survived by four children, Judith Ann Reese of Hagerstown, Kenneth David Reese Jr. and wife, Millicent, of Mont Alto, Pa., Robert Eugene Reese and longtime companion, Cherie Baker, of Greencastle, and Michelle Lynn Tarry of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren, Charles Michael, Tess Britney, Donovan Michael, Karessa Sumer, Kristen Colleen, Zachary David, Tara Amber Marie, Brooke Elizabeth and Logan David; three sisters, Kay Dellee Straley of Greencastle, and Alice Jean Gardner and Sue Ellen Reese Byrd, both of Hagerstown; one brother, John Wesley Reese Sr. of Williamsport; Uncle William â??Billâ? Kuhn of Hondo, Texas; Aunt Betty Hose of Hagerstown; numerous nieces and nephews; and his stepmother, Linda Reese.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Josephine Janice (Foltz) Reese; maternal grandparents, Eli and Mabel Catherine Heffinger Kuhn; paternal grandparents, John Wesley Sr. and Edith Fisher Reese; and a brother, James Anthony Reese.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Linda Reese officiating.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Maryland State and AMVETS Post No. 10 Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
