Debra Diane Thompson

Debra Diane Thompson, passed away on August 4, 2023.

Born on July 11, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Beatrice Manuel (Taylor) and the late Neal Galbreath. She was a 1975 graduate of Lafayette High School. She spent much of her life working for the New York City Board of Education as a Data Entry Administrator. Debra then relocated to Hagerstown in 2007 where she became a Walmart associate and door greater which was perfect for her as she loved talking with people.

Debra also enjoyed video games and arts and crafts, watching movies, television and cooking. She loved children and she loved dogs!

In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her brother, Darryl Manuel and her sister Sakina Manuel.  She is survived by sons, Royle E. Thompson, and Richard E. Thompson; sisters: Patti Taylor, Angela Wall, Vanessa Zachow, and brother Eduardo Rocha. Nieces: Daphne Wall, Elizabeth Zachow, Ashlyn Wirthlin, Christian Joyner (Anthony), Brittany Joyner, Lauren Manuel, Latoya Manuel, Natasha Manuel (Charles); Nephews: Kirstan Harper, Kash Wirthlin, Derrick Joyner Jr., and a host of other family members.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742; Viewing 10:00 a.m. - Service 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children in Need of Washington County, MD and/or the Humane Society of Washington County, MD.
