Diana "Dina" Kegarise

Diana (Dina) Kegarise, 64, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on July 20, 2020 at Doey's House, surrounded by her loving family.

Dina was born June 30, 1956 in Washington, DC to the late L. Pearl Hammond and the late Howard Kessell. She was a 1974 graduate of Clear Spring High School, Clear Spring, MD. She and her husband were Foster Parents in Washington County for many years. She also served as an officer of Salem Avenue Elementary School PTA for several years. She loved her "Book Fairs," she enjoyed giving to her community, and she loved working with the children. She was also an Army Veteran. She served her country proudly.

Dina enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, reading, crocheting, and Bingo. She loved spending time with her family and friends at their Riverbend home. The family wishes to thank LifeCare of Washington County, Dr. Danielle Singleton, and Dr. Qadir. Pastor Chad Carter will be doing her service per her special request.

Dina is survived by her husband 40 years, Robert (Bob) Kegarise; four sons: Brad Kegarise and wife Amy of Williamsport, MD, Jeremy Kegarise and wife Tonya, Joseph (Joey) Kegarise of Hagerstown, MD, Anthony (AJ) Simmons and wife Ashley of Martinsburg, WV, and Jason Kegarise of Iowa; three daughters: Izora Simmons, Caitlin Kegarise of Hagerstown, MD, and Tina Redman of Chambersburg, PA; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three very close friends and her "74" girls.

Dina is preceded in death by her sister, Debra Ann Kessell; son Robert (Bobby) Kegarise; and grandson Brady Emanuel Kegarise.

Friends and family may pay their respects to Dina on Thursday, July 23 from 6-8 PM at Rest Haven Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, July 23 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Pastor Chad Carter officiating.
