Paul Richard "Dickie" Summers, 79, of Hagerstown, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Doey's House, while surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 5, 1941, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Paul Oscar and Sarah Ella Louise (Rhodes) Summers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Myers.
Dickie was a 1958 graduate of Williamsport High School.
He retired as a supervisor in the carpenter trade.
Dickie attended the Church of God, on Virginia Ave.
He was a member of the Western Maryland, South Mountain and North American Rod & Gun Clubs, Williamsport Red Men Lodge 84, Funkstown American Legion Post 211, and the Goodwill Athletic Club.
Dickie loved the outdoors, whether it was to go crabbing, fishing or hunting. He never missed a hunting season.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sharon Jean (Domer) Summers; two daughters, Dawn Lorraine Brown and her husband Philip James Brown, Paula Georgette Summers; two grandchildren, Philip Richard Brown and April Renee Brown; two great-grandchildren, Khloe and Kylie Brown; a brother, Charles Summers and wife Debbie; three sisters, Anita Eichelberger and husband Robert, Ginny and Linda; and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Chaplain Volodymyr Grinchenko officiating. Entombment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home and again following the committal service for a luncheon at the funeral home.
