Dixie Lee Smith

Dixie Lee (Kovacich) Smith, 80, of Hagerstown, Maryland went to her heavenly home on Monday, July 3, 2023.
Born on September 8, 1942, she was the daughter of the late James and Lena Kovacich. 
She is survived by two daughters, Stacie Catherman (Steve) of Greencastle, PA and Karen Sharp (Robert) of Hagerstown, MD; a sister Dee Harne of State Line, PA; aunt Dorothy Stottlemyer of Hagerstown, MD; nephew Jeff Harne (Heather); two great nephews and one great niece. 
She is also survived by her two grandchildren that she greatly loved, James and Amy Lowery of San Antonio, Texas and "adopted grandchildren"- Paul, Rebecca, Rachel and Sarah Wilgen of San Antonio, Texas.
She retired from Erie Insurance of Hagerstown, MD and she had previously worked at Serv-U-Vending Corp for many years. She was a member of Hagerstown Bible Church and previously a member of Grace Church in Waynesboro. Dixie went through many trials in her life and her faith in God was strong. She was always quick to say to anyone “you have a blessed day.”
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 2pm at Rest Haven Funeral Home Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, Maryland, 21742. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her parents.
