Doris Jane Harnish

Doris Jane (Miles) Harnish, 88, of Hagerstown, went "all the way home" to be with the Lord on Monday, August 11, 2014.
Born November 28, 1925 in Uniontown, PA., she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Emma M. (Barron) Miles.
She was a 1943 graduate at Hagerstown High School.
Doris was a member of Christ's Reformed Church in Hagerstown. She was also proud to have been a secretary for the local republican party.
She worked as a secretary to the president of Porter Chemical Company for 17 years, before working at Fairchild for three years. She then worked as an office manager at her husbands chiropractic office.
Doris enjoyed sewing and knitting projects. She was a good cook and baker, specializing in pumpkin pies. She liked to put together jigsaw puzzles and going to the beach with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Richard Glen Harnish, who died on March 9, 2004; and a close friend, Shirley Creager.
Doris is survived by two sons, Chuck Harnish and wife Stacy of Boonsboro, Glen Harnish and wife Jacqueline of Walkersville; six grandchildren, Savannah Harnish, Zephan Harnish both of Woodsboro, Zachary Hope of Walkersville, Delaney Harnish of Woodsboro, Allison Hope of Walkersville, Samuel Brown of Maine; former daughter-in-law, Shelbia Criss of Woodsboro; a close friend, Betty "BJ" Mumma of Hagerstown; and her faithful granddog, Sippy.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Friday, August 15, 2014 in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
Friends will be received from 7-9pm on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel.
