Doris Lorraine Huffman

Doris Lorraine (Miller) Huffman, 96, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021 at Meritus Medical Center.

Born on August 21, 1924 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Anna (Hoffman) and Thomas Miller. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 73 years, Eugene W. Huffman (2015), a sister; Pauline Hartle (1974), and a brother; Garvin Miller (2004).

Doris, as a young adult, worked on the assembly line at Fairchild Aircraft in order to help with the war effort during WWII.

Doris was a founding member of Cedar Lawn Missionary Church and served for over 60 years where she played piano and sang, participated in Ladies Fellowship and volunteered at the Union Rescue Mission. Her biggest priority in life was to do what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

Doris' passion was helping people, working outside tending to her garden, growing vegetables and canning.

She is survived by her three sons; Frederick A. Huffman and wife Mary of Falling Waters, WV, Donald A. (Andy) Huffman of Hagerstown, Mark W. Huffman of Hagerstown, and four Grandchildren; Freddie, Jeff (Lisa), Scott and Erika Huffman.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 11 AM at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastors Doug Wagner and Jeff Shull officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Homewood at Williamsport, 16505 Virginia Ave., Williamsport, MD 21795, who was entrusted with her care for the last four years.
