Dorothy Swartz MacPherson

Dorothy Swartz MacPherson, 79, of Hagerstown, formerly of Ellicott City, passed away, Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.

Born May 7, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland she was the daughter of the late, Edgar H. and Farrie B. (Underwood) Swartz.

Dorothy was a homemaker and a life long member of the Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, Ellicott City and more recently the Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, David L. MacPherson; two daughters, Brenda M. Hicks and husband, Donald of Uxbridge, Mass. and Deb M. Walczak of Leesburg, Va.; one granddaughter, Moriah Hicks of Uxbridge and her brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Steven Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown and on Monday one hour prior to services at church.
