Dottie Jane Haupt

Dottie Jane Haupt, 81, of Hedgesville, Maryland, passed away on December 20, 2022 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. She was the wife of the late Donald L. Haupt Sr. who passed away in October of this year. 

Born on October 4, 1941 in Hagerstown, Maryland she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Edna Kline. Dottie was a graduate of Boonsboro High School. Throughout her life she owned and operated her own restaurant. She was a member of the Boonsboro Worship Center. Dottie was loving and devoted to her children and her family, always enjoying an opportunity to cook for others. 

She is survived by her children, Donald Haupt Jr. and wife Lisa of Hagerstown, Joyce Smith and husband Bill of Hedgesville, Gregory Haupt and wife Cheri of Keedysville, and Tammy Haupt of Falling Waters. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and special friends, Jerry and Vicki Price, Linda and Dean Millliron, Ruby Oberholzer, Evelyn, Helen and Rita; and her special cousin Dorothy Shank and companion Ernie. 

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Lee Kline.

The family will receive friends from 10-11am on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the Boonsboro Worship Center, 7605 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713. A funeral service will begin at 11am. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.
