Earl Alexander Hamilton, 88, of Boonsboro, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Doey's House, Hagerstown.
Born May 6, 1933 in Flintstone, MD, he was the son of the late Ernest and Annie M. (Groves) Hamilton.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Irene (Stafford) Hamilton, and his son Gary Wayne Hamilton.
Earl was employed as an electrician by the Department of Army until his retirement in 1995.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, stationed at Fort Benning, GA.
He was a member of American Legion, Post 10, Boonsboro, and NARFE Chapter 306.
Earl attended the Boonsboro First Christian Church, and enjoyed traveling, boating and fishing in his spare time.
Earl is survived by his sons, Dale L. Hamilton and wife Terry K. of Boonsboro, and Terry L. Hamilton and wife Sonny of Plymouth Meeting, PA; One sister, Lucy Boyce of Venice, FL; 5 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren, and our family friend Dot Garling.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 11 AM at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave, Hagerstown with Pastor Gary Mears officiating.
Family will receive friends Monday, May 2 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Earl's name to Doey's House, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
