Edward Allen Butch Snively

Edward "Butch" Allen Snively, 62, of Hagerstown, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017.

Born July 28, 1954 in Waynesboro, PA., he was the son of the late James Monroe Snively, Sr. and Edith Mae (Clark) Snively.

Butch was a 1972 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School, where he also participated on the wrestling and football teams.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Butch had such a warm, caring heart and always put everyone else before himself. He enjoyed helping others and had a love for cars. He was a die hard Washington Redskins fan! Butch had a special love for his autistic son, Joshua, like no other.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Ann (Burnett) Snively; five children, Vanessa Kay Smith, Jason Michael Snively, Angela Shatrice Brewer, Sharnay Nicole Burnett, and Joshua Darnell Burnett; six grandchildren, Michael, Brittany, Zaaron, Avery, Mia, and Luca; a brother, Floyd Michael "Mike" Snively; three sisters, Patricia A. Snively, Doris J. Hennington, and Bonita Kay Washington; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend, Alan Crosen.

In addition to his parents, Butch was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Angela Marie Snively; and a brother, James Monroe Snively, Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with his brother, Mike Snively and Rev. Gwendolyn Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Maryland State Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
