Edward 'Ed' William Brewer, of Maugansville, MD went home to Jesus on April 2, 2023, at age 82 after a brief battle with brain cancer.
Born on September 25, 1940 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late William Wampler Brewer and Edith Lorena (Baughman) Brewer.
He married Donna (DeLong) Brewer in 1963 and went on to have two children Kevin Brewer (spouse Kelly), Terri True (spouse Scott) and two grandchildren Logan True (spouse Allison), and Tatum True (spouse Ben) and his beloved rescue dog Sammy.
He was a devoted brother to Joyce Ridenour (spouse to late Don Ridenour). He was an uncle to Phil Ridenour (spouse Jeannie) and late Frank Ridenour (spouse Nancy) and great niece Heather Ridenour.
In addition to being a dedicated husband, father, brother, and grandfather he was also very involved in his community. He founded Brewer's Saab in 1968 and worked diligently to run a successful business until his retirement.
He was an active member of the new car association. He served on the board at Fahrney Keedy, The Salvation Army, and the Maugansville Ruritan Club. He was a member of the Army Reserves.
Despite his many business and community responsibilities he always made time for his family. He spent many weekends with the family camping at the river. Later in life he enjoyed traveling cross country with his wife, friends and many four-legged traveling companions. He also enjoyed a yearly RV trip with his grandkids to Myrtle Beach.
He was an active member, until the very end, at Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, where he taught Sunday School and was involved in all church activities.
Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. Through his strong faith and actions, he brought many people to know and form a relationship with Christ.
He joins in Heaven, his mother Edith and father William.
