Edward Eugene Shumaker
February 19, 1938 — July 20, 2020
Edward Eugene Shumaker, Sr., 82, of Hagerstown passed away peacefully, Monday, July 20, 2020 at Julia Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born on February 19, 1938 in Keedysville, MD, he was the son of the late Mary (Sweeney) and Lester Milton.
He was proceeded in death by his loving wife, DeLinda (Cooper) Shumaker, two sons, Edward E. Shumaker, Jr. and Hank A. Shumaker, and 9 brothers and sisters.
Edward retired after 25 years from Packaging Services Industries as a Tow Motor Operator.
Edward was a past member of the Owl's Club and was a Past President of the Red Men Lodge 84.
Edward was an avid baseball and football fan and rooted for the Atlanta Braves and the Washington Redskins.
He was survived by two daughters; Tess Shumaker Seibert and her husband Michael, and Leslie Downey and her husband Steven; two brothers Ronald Shumaker and Donald Glen Shumaker, eight Grandchildren; Nick, Josh, Michael, Jessica, David, Kristi, Miranda and Shannon, 12 Great Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held Friday, July 24, 2020 from 12-2 PM at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no more than 30 guests will be allowed in the funeral home at one time.
A private graveside will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
