Edward Arthur Harp, Jr.

Edward Arthur Harp, Jr., 88, of Hagerstown, Md., passed from this life, on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Sterling Care, Boonsboro, Md.

Born May 31, 1934 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Edward A. Harp, Sr. and Rosezella May (Chapman) Harp. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Harp.

Mr. Harp spent 21 years of his life in the military with his wife and three sons, while in the military he enjoyed baseball and earned the nickname "Fast Eddie". He also enjoyed a good game of golf and bowling.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Phyllis C. (Gelwicks) Harp; three sons, Edward Harp III (Carmen) of California, Jeff Harp (Joan) of Hagerstown and David Harp (Tonya) of Stephen City, Va.; six grandchildren, Janice McClung (Alan), Jamie Barnes (Norfleet), Edward Harp IV, Cierra Danco (Allen), Kyle Harp and Kaitlyn Harp; five great grandchildren and a sister, Dorothy Dundus of Hagerstown.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Mark C. Mooney officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
