Edwina Hughes Bundick, of Hagerstown, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Edwina lived a long, full life, but she was a lady and she believed that a lady never tells her age.
Â
Born in Liverpool, Great Britain, she was the daughter of the late Captain Arthur and Margaret (Jones) Hughes. She was very proud of her fathers service as a Captain in the British Merchant Marines during the war.
Â
Edwina moved to the United States in 1953 and became a citizen ten years later. She went on to have a successful career and retired after many years as a secretary for the United States Government. After her retirement she worked for the Maryland Department of Tourism, helping travelers find their way.
Â
She is survived by her devoted son and his wife, Arthur and Carmen Bundick of Boonsboro; and a granddaughter, Amanda Bundick, Esq. aka Precious of Pittsburgh. All of whom will miss her deeply, especially her Welsh intuition and lucky cups of tea.
Â
Inurnment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation for all of the caregivers, nurses and hospice professionals who befriended and cared for her. In particular, the family would like to thank Dr. Hind Hamdan for going above and beyond in both her expertise and friendship to Edwina and her family.
