Edwyn Lee Finfrock, Sr., 80, of Smithsburg, passed away, Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born November 5, 1932 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Vernon and Grace (Sheffler) Finfrock.
Mr. Finfrock retired after 30 years of service as a correctional officer for the State of Maryland.
He was a member of St. Paul's Free Lutheran Church, Leitersburg. He also was a member of the Via deCristo, the Leitersburg Ruritan Club and the Leitersburg Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by two sons, Edwyn L. Finfrock, Jr. of Maybrooke, NY and Alan W. Finfrock of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one daughter, Joan L. Jenkins of Belmont, NH; one sister, JoEllen Bitner of SC; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Pauline (Haynes) Finfrock and one daughter, Brenda L. Hitt.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Terry Culler officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery on Monday at 10:00 A.M.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
