Elizabeth I. Fisher Eichelberger, 95, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, June 24, 2016.
Born Dec. 16, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William Fisher and Verna I. Cole Fisher.
She was a past member of Women in Construction, president of the board of directors at Woodcrest Village and a present member of AARP. She enjoyed playing on her computer, doing ceramics, crocheting, knitting, and many other arts and crafts. She was a lifetime member of the Catholic faith and a past greeter at St. Andrews Church, Waynesboro Pa.
She is survived by daughters, V. Aileen Nichols, Waynesboro Pa., Paula Irene Phillips and husband, Bob, Hendricks, W.Va.; grandchildren, Paula Diane Stevens, Tammy Mosley, Carol Ann Williams (Betsy) and Gary Benner II, as well as eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. As a super mom and grandmother, she enjoyed her family time with both family and friends, and she loved having the friends feel as though she had adopted them and having them call her "mom" or "grandma."
She retired at age 65 after working numerous jobs from managing Spiegles, to A.G. Crunkleton, as their bookkeeper for years. After her first retirement, she worked at Nic Nac Paddy Wack Kiosk until permanently retiring at age 82.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Eichelberger; brother, William Fisher; and grandson, John P. Nichols.
Her memorial service will be held at the Rest Haven Funeral Home Chapel,1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740 on Friday, July 1, 2016, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Augusty Valcomchalil will officiate.
