Emit Keyser Burkett, 86, of Hagerstown, passed away, Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his home.
Born January 15, 1930 in Shenandoah, Virginia.
Mr. Burkett was a US Navy veteran and a US Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was Protestant by faith and a member of the Am Vets,Post 10, Hagerstown the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 378, Hagerstown, Eagles Incorporated, Waynesboro, American Legion Dixon-Troxell Post 10 , Funkstown.
Mr. Burkett enjoyed baseball, softball, bowling, was an avid golfer and loved the New York Yankees.
He retired from Mack Truck where he worked in heat treatment.
Mr. Burkett is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Alice Irene (Rohrer) Burkett; three daughters, Karen Doub and husband, David, Mickey Moore and husband, Tim and Jacqueline Burkett and partner, Allen Hefner; two grandchildren, Michael Doub and Nicole Stouffer and husband Davey; three great grandchildren, Dillon Moore, Trey and Hailey Stouffer.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 6-8 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
