Ernest Glenwood Best

Ernest Glenwood "Ernie" Best, 74, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Doey's House, Hagerstown.

Born April 18, 1949 in Frederick, Md. he was the son of the late, Linford and Kathryn (Kennedy) Best. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Younkins; a grandson, Jonathan Best and a nephew, Adrian Younkins.

Mr. Best retired from Amtrak as Supervisor of Operations in Washington DC. He was a graduate of Liberty University where he received a degree in Divinity.

Mr. Best grew up in the Brownsville Church of the Brethren and is a member of the Boonsboro Bible Church. He also is a member of the NRA.

Mr. Best is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Mary E. (Weagley) Best; three sons, Christopher "Scott" Best and wife, Jeannie, Benjamin "Ben" Best and wife, Cristel and Joseph "Joe" Best and wife, Stephanie; one daughter, Vonda Clever; one brother, David Best and wife, Suzanne "Suzie"; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Boonsboro Bible Church,6741 Old National Pike, Boonsboro at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Allen Robinson officiating. Friends will be received at the church one half hour before the service.
