Ethel Lee Barr, 86, of Falling Waters, W.Va., passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born June 8, 1925, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Grace (Jackson) Ridenour.
Ethel worked as an office manager at A.G. Crunkleton Electric Co. in Greencastle, Pa., for many years.
She was a member of the Baptist Church in Hagerstown; lifetime member of the VFW in Greencastle, a member of the American Legion in Williamsport and the F.O.E. No. 694 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Edgar L. Barr. Also surviving are two nieces, Doris Baker of Cumberland, Md., and Sandy Wolfinger of Smithsburg; and two nephews, Bill Snodderly and Bobbie Garver, both of Hagerstown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Mary Kennedy Ridenour; four sisters, Ruby Garver, Mildred Snodderly, Ruth Grayson and Evelyn Bushey; and a brother, Chas W. Ridenour.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Jeff Phillis officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
