Ethel Rosalie (Rosie) Rowe, 100, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born December 15, 1916 near Clear Spring, Md. she was the daughter of the late, William Denton and Bertha Estella (Hose) Weaver. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Raymond Rowe in November 1974, whom she married in April 1941; a son-in-law, Robert S. Rouse; brothers and sisters, Mary R. Weaver, John A. Weaver, Estella Yetter and husband Paul, Ruth Cunningham and husband, Harry, Denton H. Weaver, Anna C. Weaver, William Weaver and wife, Mary, Earl Weaver and wife, Mary, Andrew Weaver and wife, Sylvia, Marguerite "Maggie" Newcomer and husband, Frank, Grace Eugenia Green and husband, Abraham Robert and brother-in-law, Ernest "Buddy" Harr.
Mrs. Rowe was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hagerstown.
She was employed by Fairchild during the war. She was a homemaker and earned her GED and in later years she worked at Crossroads and the Stationery House.
She is survived by three children, Nancy L. Rouse of Hagerstown, Ronald R. Rowe and wife, Linda of Mechanicsburg, Pa. and Jane L. Fisher and husband, Gordon of Hagerstown; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one sister, Harriett "Jean" Harr of Hagerstown and a sister-in-law, Sara (Hess) Weaver.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Chaplain Jeffrey Casto officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Rosie's name to Coffman Nursing Home, Activities Department or to the Hospice of Washington County.
